Borgo 27 is located in the heart of the Valpantena valley, a valley that runs from Verona up into the mountains toward Lessinia passing through the town of Poiano, Marzana and finally Grezzana, which is 9 km from Verona, located north of the city.
It ‘s a quiet village of about 11,000 inhabitants, and like the rest of the region has been subject to the dominion first by the Romans, then the Scaligera family, and finally the Venetians.
It was under the Venetian rule that the Channel Rial was constructed, which drew its water from the "Progno of Valpantena" and gave birth to the flourishing activity of the Mills, one in particular, restored and functioning is the Bellori's mill, in the hamlet of Lugo, which can be also visited internally.
This mill, which dates back to the sixteenth century remained in operation until 1956.
Do not miss the archaeological site discovered in 1958 by Veronese archeologist Franco Tagliente, the Shelter “Tagliente”. The site is famous all over the world for the numerous variety of flint artefacts that were found during the excavations, thus testifying to human presence in Lessinia since very ancient times.
